Meet people whose lives were changed after a vacant lot in San Diego was transformed into a “New Roots” community farm: The Bahati (“Lucky”) Mamas, refugees from Somalia who have reestablished their ties to the land; Luchia, a single mom from Uganda who is supporting her family with her produce business; and Antonio, a community gardener originally from Mexico who is starting a plant nursery.
