A Call to Service: 2018 Spirit of Helen Keller Gala
Client: Helen Keller International
Each year, HKI puts together their annual Spirit of Helen Keller Gala to raise money to fight poverty, poor eyesight and malnutrition. As part of the event, Rocketship was tasked with creating a keynote video about the foundation and introductory videos to introduce the audience to two bright lights who have answered Helen Keller’s enduring call to service on behalf of those who are disabled, impoverished and disadvantaged.
Our Process.
We worked closely with the HKI team and their media agency to create motion graphic elements to introduce award recipients and to craft two videos. Using provided footage and photos, and a few fitting stock assets, we crafted touching short films.
Services.
Direction. Art Direction. Editing. Motion Graphics.
A Call to Service Film | Keynote Gala Documentary
Short documentary to tell the story of the organization and its mission to help those in need.
Brad Perkins | Introductory Motion Graphic
Architect and longtime HKI Supporter. He received the Helen Keller Humanitarian Award for his 25 years of service to the organization of the Board of Trustees. He did not want a film made to highlight his work. Instead we created a motion graphic interstitial for him to make his way to the stage to accept the award.
Yetnebersh Nigussie | Spirit of Helen Keller Award Recipient Film
Disability rights activist and inclusion advisor at Light for the World, Yetnebersh Nigussie, stands "shoulder to shoulder" with HKI's namesake with her work and dedication.
